Il corridore sloveno ha dimostrato ancora una volta la sua superiorità con un'altra vittoria, conquistando in solitaria la vetta a Port Ainé e assicurandosi la seconda vittoria di tappa in due giorni.

Tadej Pogacar ha atteso nel gruppo nei primi 11 km di salita mentre la Soudal QuickStep imponeva il ritmo prima di lanciare il suo attacco al quale ha resistito solo Mikel Landa per poi proseguire tutto solo fino al traguardo.

Pogačar ha rapidamente costruito un divario insormontabile, Mikel Landa è giusto a 48" mentre al 3° posto è risalito l'italiano Antonio Tiberi con a ruota il compagno Wout Poels mentre Sepp Kuss (Visma-Lease A Bike) ha conquistato il 4° posto.
